WHERE FUN AND FITNESS MEET
After more than 45 years of service to our community, the Larkey Pool underwent a major renovation, re-opening in June 2017, just in time for the hot days of summer.
Located on land originally settled in 1857 by rancher John Larkey and his family, the renovated Larkey Pool is truly a facility for all ages and ability levels.
The renovation included replacing the old-style toddler wading pool with a water-efficient Splash Playground that is accessible for children of all physical abilities. The Splash Playground is, without question, popular for youth of all ages.
Through the generosity of the community, the Walnut Creek Civic Pride Foundation raised more than $90,000 for the Splash Playground. Key contributors were the William A. Kerr Foundation and the Dean & Margaret Lesher Foundation . . . as well as other community donors.
